“Anchor” is an eerily enveloping single from Chrisy Nova, theatrically riveting in its dream-induced narrative alongside prancing piano and dynamic vocals. “I anchor our flesh,” the initial vocal refrain immerses, traversing into the touching “I love him,” proclamation alongside classical-minded piano fury. “I bind myself to him, with needles and pins,” they continue, meshing a chamber-pop frolicking with a gothic cinematic flair.
The track took inspiration from a nightmare the artist had several months ago. “The dream was almost like a body horror-wet dream with this albino man,” Nova says. “In the dream, I was making out with this guy and for some odd reason in the dream, I decided to grab a stapler and staple myself to this man… Needless to say, it made for a great song.”
