Placid Cactus – “tailwind”

//

Soaring guitars, serene vocals, and atmospheric synths captivate on “tailwind,” a new single from Placid Cactus that melds synth-pop, rock, and sophisti-pop engrossment. Harmonious vocal layers lend an inviting quality, as depictions of the journey to “ride in the tailwind,” weaves into the catching “I just wanna be there,” hooky escalation — rising from a muted guitar-laden dreaminess into a twinkling array of synths.

“With every touch I get the butterflies out,” is sung grippingly here by Mikey Recupero, the multi-instrumentalist producer and songwriter behind the project. Mark this down as another success from the project, impressing in years past with tracks like “Island Glow” and “Wishing Well.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
