Good Deal – “Circles”

/

Twangy guitar work enamors alongside a lush, introspective vocal feeling on “Circles,” a single from Raleigh, NC-based quartet Good Deal. Lyrics stir in capturing a certain time in one’s life, where uncertainty and discontent envelop. “Could I take away this checkered flag, so we can just cruise around,” the vocals resonate, calling for cathartic freedom within a perseverance to keep pushing onward. Both lusher guitar segments — like the Wrens-esque “my head was spinning a circle,” chiming — and more ardent eruptions compel throughout this melodic rocker from Good Deal.

Good Deal elaborate on the track:

“This is a song that came about from varying member of us being unhappy with our life situations, whether that was an unhealthy relationship or a soul sucking job and reflecting upon what that may looks and feels like from the person navigating that weird space. The sensation of drowning that comes with these kinds of experiences and continuing to push through it.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
