The Trusted – ‘Lost Soul’ EP

/

The Lost Soul EP unveils a melodic rock appeal from The Trusted, a band based in Southend-on-Sea, UK. Described by the band as “our anthem for the unnoticed, capturing the essence of our shared human struggles,” the EP’s title track is especially exemplary of the band’s gripping rock sound.

“Lost Soul” grips from the get-go. Spacey synths and palpable momentum traverses into the “just wanna hold on to my lost soul,” vocal outpouring — bolstered by roaring guitar distortion and an overall sense of exhilaration. “Will you blow my mind?” they question, gearing into another delectable central chorus — “I just wanna hold on.” “Lost Soul” kicks things off with ample appeal.

The EP continues the quality highlights from there, ranging from the twinkling jangly rock of “Marrow” to the emotively captivating finale “Burning The Night,” previously featured here. The former is especially inviting in its central hook, as vocals heighten in pitch into a twinkling array of keys. The range on “Doomsday,” from debonair bass-fronted builds to anthemic rock pursuits, is also exemplary of The Trusted’s engaging songwriting and sturdy rock production.

“Lost Soul” is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Rock.
