Hipster Trash is a new EP from Valentin Prince, presenting a hypnotic lo-fi rock intrigue out of Richmond, Virginia. “Never Meant to Be” opens the EP with intriguing guitar flashes and a grooving bass placidity. “We need some space, don’t you agree?” the mellow vocals ask, musing on a relationship wherein “we were never meant to be.” The twangy guitar infusions during the “eventually,” line adds further to the subdued mystique.
“The Same as You” is another highlight, presenting a title-touting refrain that melts with lushly immersive qualities. The EP overall shows well across its three tracks, touting a late-night, contemplative engrossment amidst its subdued rock sound.
