Stockholm-based artist Nathanael Saposnikoff struts a melodic intertwining of synth-pop and psychedelic jangles throughout new single “Wanderer,” the first single from an upcoming “suite of new songs” in 2024. The release marks a fairly new direction for the artist, one that embraces more collaborating musicians and a lyrically-focused emphasis.
Playful synth warbles expand quickly into a glistening effervescence, exuding a crisp and bright synth-pop enamoring. Saposnikoff’s charismatic vocal presence aligns with bouncier synth directions and jangly guitar insertions. “And you tell me ‘I’ll be fine,'” the reassuring vocals let out during the hooky chorus, bolstered by interweaving vocal layers and an added backing effervescence; the aesthetic reminds fondly of Aqueduct (David Terry). Capped off by a gorgeous guitar-fronted emphasis, “Wanderer” is a delight of a track from Saposnikoff, who succeeds with a strong meshing of jangly psychedelia and synth-friendly pop.
