Maryland-based act Sunniva tout a warming groove on “Its Not the Same,” a soulful pop single with caressing vocals and twinkling key delights. The project, led by brothers Danniel and Conner Knight, describe the effort as “about the varying perspectives of love and attraction amongst other things.”
“Free as a bird,” the inviting vocals start in the soaring chorus, punctuated by effervescent keys and the dreamy, escalating croon. The three-minute turn — “wait a minute,” — reveals an especially catching hook, remarking “your life is more than inspiration,” with mellow soul-pop entrancement. “Its Not the Same” is a melodic earworm from Sunniva, impressing in the past with the track “Untold” and the Forest Fire EP.
