Bass-fronted moodiness expands into a resonating vocal emotion alongside shimmering guitar lines, complemented by lyrics reflecting on the pains of love. The inspiration is personal; the track was “written at the beginning of a turbulent two year relationship for the band’s singer/guitarist and recorded near its end.”
“Don’t keep me waiting too long, all I want is time with you alone,” the vocals caution amidst the post-punk beginnings, traversing with blistering emotion into the “I want you to see me in a different light,” yearning, complemented by escalating guitar-forward vibrancy.
