The sophomore single from Dutch band Talks Make Do, “Room For Love” struts a grooving rock sound with a confident infectiousness. “Why do you take up all my room for love?” the vocals ask during the funk-touched chorus. Much like their debut single “Ripples,” “Room For Love” draws from ’80s influences in the synth infusions especially, pairing with lyrical unrequited yearning for a compelling sound.
“You got lipstick darker than my train of thoughts,” the vocals continue, bolstered by a subsequent synth-forward playfulness amidst steady percussion, reflective guitars, and suave bass. A fantasy-like perspective follows on how it may feel to wake up alongside one’s point of affection, lounging and hanging out. The reprising hook emerges with replay-inducing appeal as the third minute approaches, solidifying the track’s amply addictive charm and depictions of yearning.
