The latest single from Slow Coast, “Don’t Let It Change” traverses with melodic immersion from bass-laden vocal suaveness into hazy synths and playful guitar trickles, culminating in a soaring title-touting hook. The project represents the work of singer/songwriter and producer Matt Lawton, based in southern California. Per Lawton, the track “speaks of overcoming betrayal in love and coming out the other side with your heart intact.”
Representing the sixth single from upcoming album Depths Like These, “Don’t Let It Change You” excels in its build from suave verses into a breezier chorus. Concise synth bounces around the 02:30 mark compels alongside trickling guitar reflections, as vocals build back in to develop a bursting finale. “Don’t Let It Change You” is a quality piece of hook-friendly songwriting from Slow Coast, following the success of previous single “Hypnotized.”
