Casey Smith Project – “In and Out of View”

/

A timeless-sounding, soulful appeal lingers on “In and Out of View,” an enthralling new soul-pop single from the Casey Smith Project. Prepare for an emotively throwback listening experience, propelled by smoothly entrancing vocal layers and flourishing production. The trio from Fairbanks, Alaska originally formed in 2016, and fully invigorate with this retro-loving cut.

The “where do I turn to?” soulful vocal layers intrigue enjoyably with a Delfonics-esque nostalgia apparent in the string-laden sections. The bouncier “words always mean,” bridge adds another enjoyable element in the passionately crooning conclusion, conveying the prevalence of pain as one encounters life’s many challenges. “In and Out of View” proves riveting in its vintage soulful character.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of October 2023’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Soul.
