Andrew Byars – “Company”

//

A mellow and hypnotic folk and rock cohesion from Andrew Byars, “Company” is the title track from the artist’s upcoming debut album.

Twangy acoustics and hypnotic vocal soaring during the title-touting sequence proves thoroughly compelling, exuding a psychedelic brass-touched folk feeling reminiscent of Jerry Paper. The subdued verses evolve into the elongated chorus with cohesive, atmospheric engagement — particularly as twinkling effects grace the production around mid-point. “Company” is a lushly inviting success from Byars, whose debut album we’re certainly anticipating.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of October 2023’ Spotify playlist.
