“Matters of Chance” is a new track from Toy Dinosaur, traversing from moody late-night contemplation into a passionate uptick in vocal emotion amidst the nocturnal soundscape. Per the duo of Joshua Batstone and Brian Bob Young, the track is “about love and longing.”
Past the introduction, the vocals assume an emotional yearning that sends chills. “I try to find a motive,” the vocals start here. “You don’t understand,” they continue with soaring elegance into slight guitars and a buzzing, bass-y pulse. This emotional rise stars as the track’s centerpiece, and the verses tout a climactic, atmospheric pull as well.
