Paris-based artist Draumr dazzled in 2020 with the standout album Drawn-Out Daydream, a stellar debut with dream-pop and electro-rock synergy, evident on gems like “Elsewhere Forever.” Now, his new single “In A Daze” furthers the artist’s sound, maintaining a dreamy pop and rock arsenal with a greater sense of immediacy. It is releasing ahead of a new album.
Bolstered by a gorgeous music video (above), “In A Daze” kicks off with shimmering synths and a funky bass pulse. Glistening tonal additions emerge prior to the suave vocals’ entry, culminating in a panting chorus that declares “I’m in a daze.” The meshing of dreamy synths, funky bass pops, and alluring vocal versatility makes for another resonating production from Draumr, who released one of 2020’s finest albums and looks to follow that up with a fantastic 2023.
