Traversing from moody contemplation into a steady rock infectiousness, “Blew The Job” is the latest single from DANAE, the Berlin-based project of Tim Gallego. Per the artist, the track “talks about a guy who had a one-night-stand with a girl who then fell in love with him. He’s trying to run away from her and she won’t stop going after him.”
Sporadic guitars and morose vocals escalate steadily. Thumping percussive hints and glistening guitar strums deliver into the yearning chorus, “I really wanna stay…” exuding a desperate sense of staying stuck in time and place. The guitars’ rising from momentary pulses into the fluid envelopment within the chorus plays with cohesive charm, as does the dreamy, momentary bridge into the final chorus. “Blew The Job” is a melodic success from DANAE.
