“Numb” is a standout track from brookelen, spanning both serenely contemplative builds and an expressive rock culmination. Gentle guitars and dreamy vocals build elegantly into a spine-chilling, textured rock composure.
A steady percussive backbone coincides with jangly guitar expansion at the one-minute turn, as the vocals ascend into a gorgeously emotive tone. “I’ll take any alternative,” brookelen sings here, expressing the comfort of numbness and disassociating in reaction to tumult, though also the harm of connecting with one’s true feelings.
“My third single, ‘Numb’ was written to acknowledge the dissociation people often experienced towards the end of any hurtful relationship,” the artist explains. “It’s a call to get in touch with your true feelings and heal.”
