The classical guitarist and experimental producer crafts a sound here with shades of The Killers and The Cure, balancing emotive yearning with a fun accessibility. The hooky single represents the first single from his upcoming album, Divergent.
Described as “an anthem of eternal hopefulness amidst the drudgery of subsistence,” “The Coming Day” shows a striking immediacy. “Every night I lie awake and think about the coming day,” the opening vocals admit, with steady percussion and playful guitar swipes barreling toward a power-pop enthusiasm.
