Ottawa-based artist Phasez express “the frustrations of relationship dynamics” on the hooky pop single “Feel Okay,” lamenting “I feel like everyone is leaving me these days,” amidst an infectious convergence of chirpy guitars and bustling synth-bass.
The subdued bridge — “feel undone,” — plays with enamoring qualities. Glimmering synths and twangy guitars build beautifully amidst the melodic vocal delivery, asking “why is everybody cruel?” into a soaring chorus. The pulsing, ardent percussive additions thereafter combine with rousing vocals for a spine-tingling impact. “Feel Okay” compels with its dreamy, twinkling array of hooks and synth-laden soundscapes.
