Australian band greenhouse enamor on their new single “Finally Over,” producing a rock sound with a soaring ’80s tilt. Reminiscent of acts like The Stones Roses and The Church in its meshing of moody retrospection and memorably melodic spells, “Finally Over” has the band excelling with their third single in the past few months.
Crisp guitars ring out as a synth-laden undercurrent envelops, driving into a spacey vocal lead. “It takes awhile to find the end,” they let out as spirited doses of guitar follow. “You take a step away from me, you say to yourself — it’s finally over.” An impassioned guitar rise approaches the three-minute turn, with the track seamlessly alternating between atmospheric guitar-fronted allure and melodic, anthemic vocals. The concluding, title-referencing refrain delivers a powerful enthrallment.
We’re looking forward to greenhouse’s upcoming debut album, Centre of The Universe, releasing on July 10th.
