Alessandro Takeshi – “We Could Be Friends”

//

Tokyo-based Alessandro Takeshi delights with an enthused chamber-pop sound on the new track “We Could Be Friends.” A brisk piano character and spirited vocals work around exuberant string-laden injections, driving into the emotive “don’t you get tired of waiting?” vocal escalation. A beautiful arrangement of guitars and strings intermingle past the one-minute mark, traversing into the pop-minded verses thereafter.

“Don’t you know the king lives on credit?” Takeshi calls out during a particularly vibrant sequence. The track’s tonal versatility impresses in the ensuing sequence, with more tender vocals and piano-fronted lushness taking over, prior to a bouncy and charismatic “woke up in the morning,” outro. “We Could Be Friends” is another example of Alessandro Takeshi’s heartfelt, melodic songwriting and arrangements.

The track represents the first single from Takeshi’s upcoming album, also entitled We Could Be Friends, out on April 28th. He was featured previously with the tracks “Soulmate Understudy” and “Ghosts and Dead Ends.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of April 2023’ Spotify playlist.
