Brooklyn-based artist Alec Berlin continues his eclectic instrumental rock sound on the track “Man’s Best Friend,” coming from the newly released album of the same name. Entrancing with both starry-eyed lushness and distortion-ready vigor, “Man’s Best Friend” provides a stimulating soundscape and array of catching guitar work throughout. The Cleveland native has now been a veteran of the NYC music scene for 25 years, and continues to excite with a fresh-sounding allure.

Warming acoustics back vibrant guitar twangs, reminding fondly of Todd Rundgren’s ’70s forays. Quickly, the track ascends to a decade-later nostalgia, with heavier guitar distortion exuding an anthemic pull with an ’80s tint. The track’s decade-hopping soundscapes make for a riveting listening experience, exemplary of Berlin’s stellar songwriting and guitar work, evident through the entirety of the album, streaming below:
