“Caroline” is an impassioned rocker from Fort Wayne-based artist Nicholas Walmer, who describes the track as “about wanting to love someone but knowing it will never work due to their issues.”
The track traverses from emotive, twangy yearning into a blistering psych-rock second half with roaring guitars and thumping rhythms. A conversational lyrical feeling in the verses gives way to the exulting “I wanna love you now!” refrain, with chirpy backing keys complementing the playful guitars. The mellower verses and passionate rise play engagingly, as does the psych-drenched hypnotics throughout the second half.
