Chicago-based band Motel Breakfast enamor with their latest track “So Long,” showcasing a contemplatively twangy rock sound with dreamy, meditative qualities. Per the band, the track’s lyrics “offer meditations on lost sleep and worried minds, while the music washes over the listener with subtle drifts and changes each step of the way.”
Featuring bassist Drue deVente on lead vocals, “So Long” rides on hazy guitar twangs and twinkling keys, crafting a caressing enticement aesthetically. deVente’s suave vocals add further, tantalizing past the first minute into the “I’ll sit right here,” shift, touting a darkly melodic pull.
