Leeds-based DJ/producer Wilmore provides an infectious UK Garage-style remix of Joyeur‘s pop success “Underbelly.” The track comes via Joyeur’s recently released remix album.
This particular remix’s collaboration arose when Joyeur and Willmore met on TikTok and began DMing about a potential collaboration. This remix arose as a result, showing a new side of this single from Joyeur, the Los Angeles-based moniker of vocalist and songwriter Joelle Corey (aka Jo).
Exceling with its versatile electronic production, Willmore’s “Underbelly” remix is propelled by 2-step rhythms and bouncy, effervescent keys. Memorable moments are numerous. A minimalist vocal showing after the one-minute turn plays with aquatic effect, escalating with dance-friendly fervency as the gradual vocals build into a delectable drop. Atmospherically gripping through there into a dexterous, sped-up finale, the remix for “Underbelly” shows a fruitful partnership between Wilmore and Joyeur.
