Casey Wells‘ new track “Side of Me” wastes no time captivating with its hypnotic rock entrancement. Expressive guitar twangs and wordless backing vocals concoct a powerful, psych-induced vigor. The Charleston-based artist’s vocals emerge seamlessly thereafter, exuding a funk-tinged brand of atmospheric rock fondly reminiscent of Unknown Mortal Orchestra. “Only you knew that side of me,” he sings throughout, fully immersing on this short yet sweet psych-rocking success.
Per the artist, the track is “about letting go of the past even if it feels like losing a part of yourself.” The striking contrast between the delectable guitar bursts and yearning, spacey vocals makes for a perpetual sense of entertainment throughout, inducing replays with its appetizing length and general stylistic demeanor.
