A rousing single from Philadelphia-based act Slumming With The Saints, “Perfect Plan” delivers an anthemic alt-pop sound with resonating vocal spirit, synth-laden atmospherics, and excitable guitar lines. The release represents the first single from the band’s forthcoming EP, releasing in November. The project, led by Pat Adams, joins up again with producer Mark Solomich for the track.
“Perfect Plan” shows Slumming With The Saints as possessing substantial hook-filled energy and vibrancy. The track’s confident vocal refrain — “I know you know I can, I got the perfect plan,” — evolves into a melodic, synth-bolstered bridge that builds feverishly into the invigorating chorus. Slumming With The Saints formed as an off-shoot of post-hardcore band Crush Factor, and this effort continues on with an energetic, punchy sound.
With “Perfect Plan,” I’m reminded fondly of early-era Supergrass’ intensity, though with a modern production punch. “Perfect Plan” has Slumming With The Saints firmly on my radar, with this excellent track, and I’m anticipating the upcoming EP.
