The newly released video for “Hearts & Arrows/Ask Me No Questions” comes via vocalist/songwriter Adam Divine and producer/songwriter Shadowbanned. Their collaboration comes to life throughout their new album Shadow Sides, which meshes glam rock theatrics, singer/songwriter emotion, and EDM excitement.
The video’s incorporation of passing skies and scenic contemplation is a great tonal fit for the track, which exudes a sense of pondering tranquility via the free-spirited lyrical prowess, frolicking guitar twangs, and expansive production, growing to lovely string adornments in the second half. The release — which is half an original song and half a cover of Bridget St John’s “Ask Me No Questions” — succeeds in its ethereal, melodic nature.
Adam Divine has been making music for 25 years, merging folk and rock with poetry and mantras depicting his experiences as “a traveler, a musician, and a walker between the worlds of anatomy and healing.”
Shadowbanned is the alias of producer/songwriter Chris Sizemore, a Nashville native and now an expat near Manchester, UK. Sizemore was producer/multi-instrumentalist in Brooklyn dream-pop group Folksongs For The Afterlife.
Their collaboration arose during the difficult times of the pandemic, producing the captivating Shadow Sides, streaming below:
