A stirring debut single from Bristol-based singer/songwriter Ben Imber, “Better Days” rouses with its mellow vocal contemplation and lush guitar tones. Lyrical hope for change and better days — amidst confessions like “nothing ever stays the same,” — proves moving leading into the title-referencing refrain.
Suave guitar tones and tight percussion around the two-minute turn converge with smoky vocals for an atmospherically enthralling success. A synth arp adds glowingly in the conclusion, cementing the track’s patiently unfolding entrancement. Atmosphere and melody both charm throughout this debut single from Ben Imber.
Per Ben, the track is “inspired by holding onto a relationship after the connection has been lost. It’s about realising when it’s time to let go to allow you both to move onto better days.”
“Better Days” represents the first song from Ben’s upcoming album Forwards, out later this year. Ben is collaborating with producer ‘Shute’ to co-produce the project.
