Showing an atmospheric sound with industrial rock progression, “Pietra” is a darkly stimulating new track from Medivh, a project from Montevarchi, Italy. The track follows up last year’s single “Rebirth.”
An intriguing atmosphere is immediately evident; lingering string-like pulses, twangy guitars, and twinkling keys craft ample momentum into the distorted vocal melancholy. The guitar additions render a solemn post-punk nostalgia in the sections between the vocals.
A heavy rhythmic intensity envelops around the mid-point, converging with more expressive vocals. The gentle guitar strum thereafter aligns with ghostly, wordless vocals, captivating with a fervently dark pull into the track’s satiating conclusion.
