A collaborative single from T-O and My Friend Shawn, “BEDSHEETS” is an infectious melding of rock and electronic-minded hyper pop, seamlessly alternating pace and aesthetic at its mid-point. The track “deals with letting go of somebody and dealing with heartbreak.”
Fuzzy guitar fragments coalesce into a warming jangle and lush vocals, aesthetically conjuring a ’90s alt-rock nostalgia in the vein of The Wrens. “I gave everything for love, except the way I gave it up,” the vocals reflect. A hazy synth-driven envelopment in the second half compels amidst alternating rhythmic intensity and restraint. “BEDSHEETS” showcases the artists’ versatile stylistic ability and melodic songwriting tendencies.
Both artists have upcoming projects on the horizon. T-O will be releasing the album Teething this summer, while My Friend Shawn has a project releasing in the fall.
