Swedish duo Curiositi enthrall throughout their new track “Trash,” its nocturnal rock soundscape reminiscent of TOPS. Using exclusively live instruments and pursuing a more rock-forward sound, compared to the duo’s earlier R&B-leaning material, “Trash” impresses with its atmospheric and melodic pull. The lyrics — speaking of “paranoia and isolation, desperate actions,” — echo a retrospective introspection, playing aptly alongside the leading keys and pulsing bass line. “Trash” is exemplary of Curiositi’s knack for atmospheric intrigue and captivating melodic sequences.
The track was recorded during Curiositi’s two-year stint at Studio Möllan, based in Malmö.
