The vocals throughout reach impressive tonal heights, at points accompanied by sporadic piano pulses, as to emphasize the vocals’ awe-inspiring power. As the vocals subdue, the track’s rich production resonates, ample with pulsing percussion, Chinese folk inspiration, and glistening electro-pop power.
“Alaye” proves riveting from start to finish, from the stirring vocal performances to the swift shifts in instrumentation. The final 30 seconds struts a darker melodic shift, with ample intrigue that left me wanting a continuation. Zen, also known for his activism, charity, and humanitarian work, impresses with this latest single.
