Low Key Crush – “Night Time”

/

Melbourne-based act Low Key Crush concoct a serene delight with the new track “Night Time.” Warming guitar jangles and yearning vocals drive to blissful moments like the two-minute turn, a consuming culmination into synth-driven effervescence. Tonally, the verses recall The Stone Roses in tone; quaint guitars and understated vocals gradually escalate with melodic charm.

The nocturnal, melancholic soundscape is accompanied by lyrics that capture a yearning to find meaning in seemingly uncontrollable emotions. “I couldn’t, I wouldn’t,” the vocals let out during the verses, showing a restraint in embracing certain feelings. Contemplative and emotively impactful, “Night Time” is a convincing success whose melody lingers with haunting effect.

Low Key Crush are releasing an EP, Bats Over The Eastern Freeway, in the coming months.

This track and others featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of April 2022’ Spotify playlist.
