“A Bind” is a sweltering rocker that ascends from psych-friendly charm into buzzing, anthemic distortion. The track comes from Liquid Pennies, a band based in Saint Petersburg, Florida. The dual vocal work of Chas Binns and Zoë Turtle plays melodically throughout, and serves as “a dialogue between two people caught in each other’s orbit as past bonds dissipate and new ones arise.”
A stampede of percussion and murky guitars build to the dreamy dual-vocal charm. “Well is this the best you’ve got?” they both ask, as the warming guitar distortion revs up. Electrifying guitar solos appear throughout, the stop-start effect of the guitars playing especially entrancingly as the three-minute mark approaches. “A Bind” is a rousing success from Liquid Pennies.
