Love Drunk Hearts – “Roam”

/

Showing a crisply resonating rock sound, “Roam” is the latest track from Australian band Love Drunk Hearts. Their previous singles drawing praise from the likes of Triple J Unearthed and FBI Radio, the band further excels with “Roam.” The chipper guitar-led tones and shimmering vocals aptly accompany the track’s adventurous spirit, bolstered by lines like “I’ll go where the wind goes,” and the beckoning “don’t you wanna roam?” refrain. A twangy guitar-based emphasis passes the three-minute mark with engaging qualities. The track’s carefree spirit and harmonious melodic pull converge for an accessible, uplifting success that continues Love Drunk Hearts’ strong recent string of releases.

The band writes:

This song was written as a nod to the travel bug we have as Australian’s. It’s always been a crowd favourite and started its journey from writing sessions on the NSW South Coast. The track bed was recorded on a camp chair in a garage, the vocals were recorded in the ICMS building in Manly, Sydney and the remaining parts added after a trip to support family in UK.

This track and others featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of March 2022’ Spotify playlist.
