Delujn‘s debut single “Ride in Chains” intrigues with its hypnotic rock sound, complemented by serene vocal entrancement and yearning synths. The Canadian project, fronted by multi-instrumentalist John Sklove, hypnotizes here with the blend of guitars, synths, and trance-inducing rhythm section. The pulsing bass line and twangy guitars concoct a western-y feeling, the lonesome synth tones aptly accompanying the retrospective vocal pull. “I try my best to make things right again,” Sklove lets out during a plucky verse, reminding of parts The Radio Dept. and Father John Misty. “Ride in Chains” provides a stirring first impression of this project, formed last year.

Per Sklove, the track “was written about the dissolution of a close group of friends, the betrayal, and the ennui that comes with
escaping a cult like atmosphere.”
