Tranquil keys complement Brown’s stirring vocals, as flickering guitars join alongside an added backing vocal reflection. “I’m leaving with my best friend, I don’t know what language he speaks,” Brown sings during the ensuing verses. “When he steals my gaze, I see volumes that transcend our fleshy beaks.” There’s a romantic, emotive quality that fully convinces, especially amidst the backing vocals and brassy warmness. Per the duo, the track is “centered around themes of hiraeth, a welsh word with no direct English translation, likened to a homesickness for a place you can no longer return to.”
