Delighting with moody post-punk rhythms alongside trickling guitar jangles, “Midnight Company” is a recent collaboration from Go Hawaii and Secret B. There’s a late-night yearning within the soundscape; the vocals exude a sort of dazed melancholy, sporadically reprieved by more optimistic guitar glistening. The “holding on, I still believe,” section entrances, followed by the vocals heightening in intensity with the catching “lay your head on my shoulder,” refrain. First catching our ear with the track “Powwow” a couple years ago, Go Hawaii continue to consume with their emotively atmospheric sound.
Go Hawaii adds the following: “When we wrote the music of this track we felt it was perfect for our friend Secret B to sing on, so we sent it straight to him and he came up with his lines, making it exactly what we wanted it to be. Lyrics were written by both the artists.”
