Suave and lush with soulful qualities, “Wavy” is the latest from Scoobert Doobert. The San Diego-based artist caught our attention last year with “Take A Breath,” and has released several successful singles since. “Wavy” begins with feelings of laid-back luxury. “Kicking it back, sipping an IPA,” is sung over funky guitars and a warm bass backing. “Is your jacuzzi heated? Got all my friends back home for the weekend.” Celeste Krishna’s entrancing vocals emerge in the ensuing verse, exuding a soul-driven nostalgia in the ilk of The Style Council. The conclusion hits the “sweet spot,” as well, closing this stylish and melodic track with another fine hook.
