“Quiet Girl” is a moving track from My Autumn Amor, the project of Los Angeles-based songwriter Thomas Monroe. The track expands gradually from heartfelt vocals alongside acoustics into an anthemic, yearning success. “I’ll lie awake at night when I got you on my mind,” Monroe sings alongside a slight piano addition. Synth additions in the second half lend a spacey atmospheric pull. The vocal styling and guitar hypnotics conjure a nostalgia reminiscent of Smashing Pumpkins’ “Disarm.”
