A spirited rock track, “Big Wave” is the first single from Modern Moxie‘s upcoming EP, Gutter Honey. Suave vocals and garage-set guitars expand alongside warmer rhythms as the “workin’ on my chemistry,” hook hits. Aesthetically, there’s a ’90s rock nostalgia, particularly in the vein of The Cardigans. The pulsing “it’s not your style,” verse drives infectiously to the title-referencing line, the delectable bridge at the two-minute mark touting a raucous fervency. “Big Wave” has me firmly anticipating Modern Moxie’s Gutter Honey EP.
