“The Modern Twist” is the latest from Les Techno, impressing most recently with “Flowers For Dystopia” over the summer. This new release shows the usual wit from the New York-based artist, lamenting on how the same old evils and challenges present us today as they have before, albeit with a modern twist. The title-referencing chorus exudes a Bowie-esque charm, in the vein of “Young Americans.” The verses tout a more sped-up, eclectic fervency, while the chorus impresses with its laid-back rock swagger. A spacey synth-forward sequence leads the ensuing bridge, before wrapping up enjoyably with another chorus. “The Modern Twist” is another consuming entry from Les Techno.
