Erin Vadala – “Water, Pt. 2”

/

The powerful “Water, Pt. 2” comes via singer/songwriter Erin Vadala. Lush piano and creaky guitars complement understated vocals to start, evolving into a track with outpouring emotive captivation and climactic sequences. “I’m not over it,” Vadala repeats alongside light keys in the first minute, the ensuing “there’s nothing to say anymore,” joined by percussion and more present piano. The brief yet effective entry of strings around the mid-point coincides with the passionate vocals for a moving sequence; the guitar accompaniments in the final minute lend a similar charm. “Water, Pt. 2” is a striking, heartfelt showing from Vadala.

Vadala explains more about the track:

“This song is about an experience I had with a boy that I was really confused about, because I felt like it wasn’t consensual but I still felt guilty for somehow letting it happen. I wrote this song and the lyrics, and my boyfriend Lorenzo Taddei produced it. It felt really healing to finally release it to the world, because I know that it deals with a sadly relatable experience.”

“Water, Pt. 2” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of October 2021’ Spotify playlist.
