Captivating with hauntingly eerie processions, “Vertigo” develops from flickering guitars and trippy vocal effects into an industrial mish-mash of rock and electronic components. The deliciously unsettling track is a collaboration from St. Noma, Nikolas Labossière, and Magic Jones. “I’m falling down,” the vocals let out, the ensuing guitar fragments and bustling rhythmic growth culminating in a dramatic halted effect, the conclusion arising via smatterings of creaking guitars. Aesthetically rich and melodically intriguing throughout, “Vertigo” is a consuming accomplishment.
St. Noma elaborates more on the release below:
“This song is an electronic rock collaboration I produced with metal vocalist Nikolas Labossière (a good friend of min0e) and multi-instrumentalist Magic Jones. This track has a lot of firsts for me: It’s the first of a couple of collaborations I’ve done over the last 3 years, and it is also the first track where I’ve had the opportunity to mix live drums. Overall, it was a fruitful collaboration that stands out from what I usually produce.
This harrowing cut is going to be the second single off of “Dearest Suburbia”, an upcoming project that is produced, mixed and mastered by me.”
