Already showing a stellar 2020 with previously featured tracks “Figure It Out” and “Isn’t It Strange,” Sluka‘s “Happy In Your World” shows further songwriting strengths from the acclaimed San Diego-based project. The track journeys enjoyably from piano-driven balladry into theatrical prog-rock, convincing in each element. The ballad sections remind fondly of Meatloaf, escalating with feverish intent via the string-laden acceleration approaching the two-minute mark. The second track is a soaring, grandiose spectacle with strings, backing vocals, and rousing instrumentation. “Happy In Your World” is further indication of Sluka’s ability to craft stirring, grand-sounding songs.
