“Open Your Eyes” is a hypnotic new track from Maybird, soaring with elements of psychedelic pop and folk. Impressing previously with tracks “In Technicolor (For The First Time)” and “The Story,” the Rochester, NY-based project continues to strut a powerful, memorable sound. “Open Your Eyes” opens with lyrics reflecting a world in stillness, with a sort of somber retrospection. “Time just passes by,” the lyrics bemoan amidst lush acoustical trickles and vocal harmonizing. The second half impresses with chilling vocal effects (reminiscent of Thom Yorke) and spacey synth-forward incorporation. “Open Your Eyes” is another winner from Maybird.
