“Desire” is a memorable track meshing R&B yearning with scorching rock guitars, from SNTGO, a singer/songwriter and producer from Barcelona, Spain. Slight guitar fragments and building vocals, reminiscent of James Blake, start the procession. Swelling, buzzing guitars and soulful vocal croons raise the momentum, culminating in a memorable “your desire,” hook as the two-minute mark nears. A sweltering guitar solo follows, then with a “I just wanna feel your touch,” subdued bridge that works beautifully. “Desire” demands attention with its convincing yearning and tasteful production.
“I had a crush on a boy back in high-school,” SNTGO says. “We fooled around but later he got a girlfriend and denied everything. I wanted to express that feeling of being used, of wanting someone to want you so bad but getting rejected.”
