A new project from NYC, The Brooksidez impress with the track “Too Soon.” Their earlier releases showed a rock-forward sound, while recently gravitating to a more dream-pop direction. “Too Soon” balances those approaches enjoyably. Shimmering guitars and serene synth touches lead in, followed by glistening guitar touches upon the vocal emergence. The suave vocals — “it’s too soon,” — play entrancingly amidst the bouncy guitar and synth adornments. The Brooksidez show a catching melodic and suave aesthetic pull throughout “Too Soon.” I’m looking forward to what’s next.
