Jakob Kupferberg – “Sweet Surrender”

/

Out today from Jakob Kupferberg, “Sweet Surrender” engages with stirring assortment of guitars and strings, alongside Kupferberg’s passionate vocal presence. Somber strings and bursting vocals align with eventual acoustics for a satisfying introduction, the vocals assuming a fervent rise as the percussion arrives. “Sweet surrender was calling out my name,” Kupferberg sings, complemented by strings thereafter. Past the two-minute mark, the vocals veer on spoken-word as the strings and guitars expand feverishly, exhibiting ample tonal variation with anthemic appeal. Effective lyrics, often with biblical imagery, captures a concern with the world’s current state.

The Danish artist originally released the track on his second EP, choosing to give the track new life in the studio and remix the original cut. Jakob is currently planning the release of his debut album, The Great Awakening, with his record label Peak Hour Intl.

“Sweet Surrender” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of March 2021’ Spotify playlist.
