Helsinki-based singer/songwriter Anni Pohto shows an enjoyably evolving pop sound on recent track “DEEP.” Plucky keys and a mysterious vocal tone engross in the beginning, with percussive additions past the mid-point breathing further life into the flourishing production. Multi-layered vocal dreaminess arises as well here, with the two-minute mark seeing an interesting shift that succeeds in its more expansive effervescence upon the “stranger things,” sequence. Reminding of Björk in its wintry, icy pop approach featuring soaring vocals, “DEEP” succeeds firmly from Anni Pohto.
